Hey y’all! Here’s what Little Fat Buddy had to say about Wednesday:
Howdy there Cowboy Shooters,
Little Fat Buddy here of the Buzzard Gulch Gazette, reporting on the Fun Fun Fun Wednesday Shoot we had at the Gulch.
The Top Three Shooters were:
#1 Tuckered Outlaw,  #2 Smokin Okie and #3  Ninety Caliber Al.
Little Fat Buddy shot Clean
Bad Crooked Aims came in dead last, but that was due to ammo problems.
Everyone, the boys especially, need to thank Bad Crooked Aims for repairing the lights in the boys bathroom, so now we can “See to Pee”.   ????? Oops, Did I say that out loud??
The day started off with a light warm rain, but you would never have noticed it as it was SO HUMID. That humidity kept up most of the day, but our EIGHT intrepid Wednesday Shooters soldiered on and had a great time.
We shot 3 stages 2 times each and had lots of fun and laughs.
The next Wednesday shoot is scheduled for 23 October 19, maybe it will be cooler then.
Keep on Shootin
Little Fat Buddy

We’re also shooting this Sunday for our fifth Sunday shoot! With the cooler weather, we’ll be shooting 6 stages for sure and we’ll be shooting fast and furious! We hope you’ll join us!
Safety Meeting at 8:30AM shooting to start soon after!
GATE CODE: 7874

09-21-19 Robbers’ Ruckus Match Recap

Hello friends!
We had a pretty eventful day today with our Robbers’ Ruckus shoot! It was a pretty muggy day and rained on us a bit on and off, but mostly it stayed overcast and kept the hot weather at bay.
We were treated to Rib Crib for lunch and a pretty amazing cake! You’ll have to see the pictures! (We’ll get those up on Facebook over the next few days!)
Everyone I heard talk about those stages loved them. They were fast and pretty fun! Ninety Caliber Al did a great job with them and we were even done a little earlier than we all expected to be!
My personal favorites (even though I missed on them both, ahem) were stage 1 where we had to throw the stick of dynamite before shooting followed closely by the last stage where we were given the 5 pistol/rifle targets and told to hit them all at least once, and it was shooter’s choice.
Big thanks to all the waddies, brass pickers, counters, and helpers throughout the whole day and during setup. The shoot wouldn’t have run so smooth without you!

Huge Congrats goes to the Top “Kids”; Iron Tomahawk KID, Josey KIDD, and Irish KID! They went home with the top three spots followed by Angus Red, Major Art Tillery, Half Rack, Speed Wagon, Alabama Bill, Catoosa Red, and Broncho Red to round out the top 10.

Another round of applause to those shooters that managed to get away clean!! Buffdriver, Josey Kidd, Little Fat Buddy, Tom Slick, and Tulsa Lawman!
The scores are all now posted on the website and if you have any photos or videos from today, we’d love if you would share them with us by including the hashtag #RobbersRuckus OR sending them to our Facebook group or Facebook page.
Thank you all again for helping to make today a great shoot for all! We hope to see you again soon!!

Hey pards!
We hope those of you that got to go to the OK State shoot had a great time and shot great!
Today we had our regular monthly match and the weather was pretty nice this morning! We had a good time and even dragged out the Texas Star.
Big congrats to our top shooters, Irish Kid, Tuckered Outlaw, and Bad Crooked Aimes!
And sorry for my confusing email from before. We are NOT shooting Sunday. Today was our monthly match. Sorry friends, I’ve been working hard and got lost when I was writing!
Remember, we have a work party before Robbers’ Ruckus!  See us at Buzzard Gulch on Friday, September 20th to help get the final touches on the range. I’ll send another reminder email later with gate codes and details.
(Waddies get tickets for our annual drawings at our annual member Christmas Party! We’ve been writing everyone’s names down and adding them to the bucket all year!!)
We’re excited to see all of our friends for Robbers’ Ruckus on September 21st!
We can’t wait to see you on the range.

July 24, 2019 – Monthly Match Recap

Greetings fellow Cowboy Shooters.
Little Fat Buddy here reporting on the old timers shoot for Wednesday 24 July 1880.
We had 9 shooters come out including a good friend of Lucky Dollar, John Cannon.    He needed an Alias so we named him “Butch Cannon, Pinkerton Agent”.
Butch turned out to be a great guy and with the great help of Bad Crooked Aims we put guns in his hands and he shot every stage.   We hope to see him again soon.
WELL WHAT GREAT WEATHER WE HAD, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.
Yes, nature shined on us at the range with cool temperatures a little breeze and beautiful surroundings.
BUT, for some reason, and I can’t figure it out, we had more “P”s that I ever saw before.
There were EIGHT “P”s !!   EIGHT !!!  And some people, me for instance had multiple “P”s.
So between the Eight “P”s and multiple misses no one shot clean, but we had a lot of laughs.
We shot at the Train Depot, the Freight Depot and the Corral.  It was fun fun fun, I am sorry people missed out.
Well that’s it for today folks.   Our next shoot is scheduled for 11 August 1880  and I hope the weather cooperates with us.
Thanks everyone who came out. The scores are on the website.
Little Fat Buddy,  Keep on Shootin

July 20, 2019 – Monthly Match Recap

Howdy Cowboy Shooters!!
Little Fat Buddy reporting for the Buzzard Gulch Gazette for the week of 20 July 1880
A glorious summer shoot was held this Saturday and we had Ten Joy Filled Shooters join us.
They were Joyous because, in spite of the weather being hot, there was also a very nice breeze which kept us all very comfortable until about noon when it really got hot.   However since the shoot was finished by 12:30 pm no one seemed to mind too much.  The club provided plenty of cold water for the shooters and we had no heat related incidents.
The Bearded Wonder set up the stages and did a fine job, all the stages were quick, fun and included a little thing we like to call “Shotgun Boogie”, where all misses were made up using the shot gun.  Some people had no misses to make up, others, like myself had four to make up.  It was fun fun fun.
WEDNESDAY SHOOT
We are having an OLD TIMERS SHOOT,  ON WEDNESDAY, 24 JULY 19.
PLACE——Buzzard Gulch
Time——  8:30 am   Summer Hours
Dress Code —— Cowboy Casual (T-shirt)

Number of Stages ——-  Six
Will we shoot shotguns  ———  Heck yes, a lot

Gate Code: 3400
Y’all Come out, it will be fun
Little Fat Buddy   Keep on Shootin

July 14, 2019 – Monthly Match Recap

Hello friends!

We had a wonderful day of shooting yesterday! We had pretty decent weather with the clouds in the sky keeping it from being too terribly hot. We kept everyone hydrated, though, with plenty of water and starting earlier, at 8:30, really helped keep us cooler.

We had 17 shooters join in on our primer popping and Irish chose stages from the 2014 Ruckus in the Nations OK State Championship to have fun with.

We’ve been enjoying a new Buckaroo coming into the sport of Cowboy Action, Lever Action Kid! He joined us for the third time yesterday and on top of shooting his own match, he was a great brass picker!

At the end of the match, Lil’ Irish — my and Irish Kid’s boy (and yes he picked out his own name!) — was helping, too! We’re getting him ready, cowboys and girls! He’s almost there!
Lil Irish and Lever Action Kid stand side by side under the cover of our fort. Lever Action Kid looks back at the crowd before shooting his guns staged on the table in front of him. Lever Action Kid stands proudly with his brass picker and basket at our monthly cowboy action match.
Both boys did great! We also had another visitor that I didn’t get to talk to much, but I dubbed “Green Horn” because of his green shirt and the fact that he was new to the sport! He shot a few stages and told us he had been thinking about getting into it for a while, but this was the first time he had ever shot a cowboy match. He sure was smiling a lot!
Unfortunately, Cat City Slim and Smokin Okie were both plagued with some gun problems. Smokin Okie had one break on him so he decided to leave a little early, but Cat City Slim managed to stick it out.
We also enjoyed getting to visit with Prarie Ghost and Alabama Bill (over from Arkansas), Stank Eye Sue and her beau Silver Creek Drifter, as well as Hunny 00 and Gunny 00! But let’s be honest, it was good to see everyone that came out and shot. 🙂
Brazos Valley Kid chats with Alabama Bill while Cat City Slim goes up to the line to shoot and Irish Kid gets ready to run the timer. Silver Creek Drifter sits on a pew while Hunny 00, Cole Miner, Gunny 00, Lever Action's Dad, and Prairie Ghost watch a shooter.
Congrats to Irish Kid, Alabama Bill, Gunny 00, Prarie Ghost, and Purdy Good for taking the top 5 spots!
We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday when we shoot again! It will be run by our resident concerned citizen, Little Fat Buddy while Irish and I have a family reunion to go to. We know it’ll be a good time. Little Fat Buddy never ceases to make people smile!

June 26, 2019 Match Recap

Hello friends!
Here’s what Little Fat Buddy had to say about Wednesday’s shoot:
“Well cowboys and cowgirls, we had a “Retiree and Old Timers” shoot yesterday (Wednesday) and what fun it was.   Everyone but me showed up early ready to shoot and I was late as I did not realize we were on summer hours.  My Bad!!
When we got to Range 1, the train station, we had a very pleasant surprise, the targets were already set up and there were NEW FUN targets to shoot, including a “Hopper” target that launched a clay pigeon 12 feet into the air.  Now shooting that was FUN!!    That is, it was fun for myself, Gunny 00 and Tom Slick, we were the only ones to actually hit the pigeon  :))
We had 12 fun shooters with great attitudes and we shot 6 stages.  But no one was able to score a clean match as the targets were set up as to be very challenging and fun.   lots of laughs and lots of shooting, it was a great day.
So that’s it for Wednesday 26 June, we will have another” Old Timers shoot” on 24 July so All Y’all come out, Ya Hear???
Little Fat Buddy,   Keep on Shootin.”
Those scores are on the website.

We’re looking forward to seeing y’all tomorrow for our annual Jimmy Buffet potluck and luau! We’ll be having burgers, watermelon, and a lot of fun! We hope some of you that haven’t been out in a while can make it!

It’s getting hot outside, so dress cowboy casual (your favorite cowboy shirt and shorts, no flip flops) or wear your favorite Hawaiin outfit a la Jimmy Buffet (still no flip flops, though)! We’ll have leis for everyone to get into the festive mood and Charles B. Gatewood will be writing the 4 stages for our shoot!

So bring your dessert or side dish, bring your pards, bring your guns and let’s have fun!

(Irish wants to remind everyone that even with the earlier start times, we CANNOT get past the John Zink Gate BEFORE 7:00AM. If you find yourself there early, wait at the gate until that time. Thank you.)

START TIME: 8:30AM

Gate Code: 6628

June 15, 2019 Match Recap

Hey friends!

Some of you may be traveling or at End of Trail, but we had a wonderful time on Saturday with all the pards that came to join us for a little of EOT in Oklahoma on Father’s Day!

All the men had a clean day (as long as their bullets came out of the barrels of their guns, downrange!) while yours truly, the only lady, got to take all of the misses and P’s on their behalves! Haha!

We had a few visitors come by and watch and their younger boys, whom I decided to lovingly call Lil Buck and Big Buck, shot one stage with us while they were there. 10 year old “Lil Buck”, whose real alias is yet to be determined, is very interested in coming to play cowboy and we’re hoping to get his dad hooked, too. 😉
We all enjoyed coffee and donuts and unexpectedly, but very appreciated, The Bearded Wonder showed up late to the shoot with his little girl in tow (whom I have affectionately nicknamed “Wild Wonder” from this day forward) and decided to cook us all lunch after the match, which we all enjoyed together!
Congrats to our top 3 shooters Angus Red, Irish Kid, and Bad Crooked Aimes!

The scores are up on the website! Our regularly scheduled fourth Wednesday shoot will be June 26th.

We’ll see you soon!
