Kissin’ Kate

I am broken hearted to inform you that Don 44 (Don Jarvis) has lost his lovely daughter Katelyn – Kissin’ Kate – (born 08/31/1999) -
to a senseless act of violence. Kate was taken from us earlier this week. It is my understanding that the family will be having a private ceremony with the possibility of a Memorial Service at a later date. I will let you know when I have more details.
Many of you will remember Kate’s infectious grin and beautiful spirit. She recently started shooting with us and Don was so proud of her. She was always so happy to be with her Dad and all of our Cowboy family.

Please keep Don and his family in your prayers during this unbelievably difficult time.  If you would like to leave a message for Don and his family, please do so below.

Funeral Arrangements:

I was notified this evening that the family is holding a grave side service for Kissin Kate (Kate Jarvis), daughter of Don 44 (Don Jarvis) this Saturday. I think the “Cowboy” way would be for us all to gather together at the service to show our support for Don and his family during this most difficult time. Cowboy attire is encouraged (no guns).

Don – Tulsa Tumbleweed wrote this beautiful poem several years ago for Billy James. I think the sentiment is just as appropriate for Kate. I will always remember your lovely daughter for her infections spirit, her beautiful smile and her great laugh. She truly was a special person in my life.

    Travel a Lifetime
    By Vicky Marang (Tulsa Tumbleweed)

I could have traveled a lifetime and never met you,
things happen for a reason, I feel its true.
People come into our lives and then they go,
but when they are special, you just know.
They touch our heart and rest in our mind,
no greater gift could you ever find.
I could have traveled a lifetime and never met you,
we will all be together again, I know its true.

    Don
I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling, as no parent should lose a child, but rest assured she is not lonely or in pain, as our Lord in Heaven is showering her with the Love and Comfort she deserves, from the prayers of every sole her life has touched in her precious short life here on earth and I know she is lovingly watching over you forevermore. Even though our prayers cannot relieve the pain of losing a child, you must know that we were all blessed to have known her, experienced her free spirit and heard her laughter. She will be in our hearts forever.

    Indianola.
